ARE YA DRAWING, SON?

Posted by Mace121 - April 9th, 2022

Short answer: I'm a bit busy.

Long answer: I was working on a Youtube series called Lost Legends. Alongside that, I have a new Youtube Channel called RABIT that focuses on the new show. My main channel would focus on just "Mace Things," and I have a few plans on that. Why RABIT? Well, originally it was going to have 4 letters, but the best candidates (RBIT and RABT) are already taken. There are other rabbit-themed names suggested but they don't stand out.

Before I get too ahead of myself: WHAT IS Lost Legends?

It’s a show that talks about lost video games, which can be beta builds, cancelled prototypes, and sometimes ones that either don’t exist or had little info about it. Basically, it’s like the Red Dead & Twisted Metal videos, but a bit more streamlined. Another analogy that's related to this topic: Think Beta64, but rather talks about the more obscure games that isn't Nintendo or Rareware titles. The show is going to be a full 12-episode season, and contained a variety of games I want to cover. The first 3 episodes are going to be released simultaneously on Mace 2.0 & RABIT, and then the rest of them would be exclusive over there.

Right now, the first two episodes are already out (check lineup). Episode 1 was planned to be released in January, but due to my little town being flooded and I have to hole up in a motel for a couple weeks, I couldn’t get things done. Later, I manage to finish what I’ve started, and the results is... A bit clunky. The second episode fixed some issues, and the 3rd would rectify more if I found some more issues.

It’s not just finishing the two episodes, I was working on the scripts for the ENTIRE SEASON since November-December. Some needed work than others, and a couple episodes had to be replaced or rearranged. Most of them are at a point where it’s nearly done, and I wouldn’t waste too much time writing the whole thing, even the upcoming 3rd episode.

What a usual Lost Legends episode be like?

Apart from an intro and ending, Lost Legends usually splits down to 4-5 chapters.

Chapter 1 - Brief History. Gives a brief introduction to the game's studios, creators, and the game in development.

Chapter 2 - The Game (or The Supposed Game). Gives a brief overview on the final game. If it's a cancelled game, then give an overview of what was going to be the game.

Chapter 3 - The Builds. The meat of the episode - Covers the game's early builds, demos, prototypes, etc. If it's multiple (or too many), then it covers the most interesting aspects.

Chapter 4 - The Pre-Release. Chapter covers on the game featured in magazine articles, ads, trailers, concept art, etc... Also, some content not shown in the playable builds.

Chapter 5 - The Miscellaneous Stuff. Last but not least, stuff that doesn't fit with the previous chapters. This includes cut content, theories I like to make, and... well, the miscellaneous.

The Games to Cover?

As there are things to cover, there’s a few I won’t do like the ones Beta64 covered like Diddy Kong Racing, Mario 64, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Majora’s mask. Not because he covered them, but everyone else did it, and what would my interpretation stand out? Yeah, exactly. This season's lineup are all games I want to cover. If you're reading this right now you could throw in a game I could cover.

Another thing I won’t cover is when it comes down to playable builds, right? You really think I should cover ALL 50 BUILDS of Ghost Rider which ranges from a few weeks, days or in some cases: hours from each other? Nah, that would take forever. One thing I could do is cover them by the earliest build and go on by the month, just to avoid making this an hour long segment (and save hard drive space). That's only IF I plan on making an episode like that.

Last thing is when it comes to emulation, I can simply record the gameplay myself. If it’s something else like running an old Windows application that’s not compatible to Windows 10 or god-forbid playing an Xbox game, then I nab someone else’s. Ever wonder the latter, don’t get me started on how finicky Xbox emulation really is. There's only a few Xbox games that could run properly, last time I checked. Then again, Xbox isn't the only emulator I have issues with.

Like I said earlier, Season 1 cover games I want to talk about. This here is the whole SEASON 1 lineup.

E1 - Ratchet: Deadlocked (The Demo)

E2 - Gran Turismo (Multiple Betas)

E3 - Battlebots (Cancelled PS2/GC Game) (IN DEVELOPMENT)

E4 - Shantae's Sequels (Cancelled Games)

E5 - DUSK (Multiple Betas)

E6 - Re-Volt (Pulled Ports)

E7 - Malice (The Betas)

E8 - Rayman 2 (The Cancelled 2D Version)

E9 - Turok: Evolution (Beta)

E10 - 3D Pinball (Beta)

E11 - TBA (Part 1)

E12 - TBA (Part 2)

If you want the TL;DR - I'm focused on my Youtube series about Betas and Cancelled video games. I'm open to suggestions on what games to cover somewhere down the line.

Extra: I still have an Artstation Page.

Yeah, in case you're wondering I haven't posted my art here for a while, to the point I posted a whopping 2 pieces last year. Well, I wish to post some more here, but I don't think the majority of my recent works are good enough for the Art section on this site, so I posted a majority of my art, on my Artstation page. It also contained some of my scrapped works and even a bit of my custom Re-Volt content.
